The Rural Golf Network
The Rural Golf Network has been started by a group of concerned Australian golfers and clubs who believe that not enough support is available to smaller rural golf clubs to operate, grow and prosper. We are a totally independent group, without any links to any organisation, company or golfing body.

Are affiliation fees equitable?
Golf Australia affiliation fees are a flat rate regardless of location, club size or ability to pay. This can lead to rural golf clubs paying over 12% of their membership in affiliation, compared to metro clubs paying as little as 1.5%.

How to develop rural golf?
Total affiliation fees from rural and regional golf clubs will rise to more than $8 million in 2023. This is a very large transfer of money from local community facilities and needs to Golf Australia salaries, events, elite programs and marketing.

How to really help rural golf clubs
More than half of the 1600 golf clubs in Australia are entirely volunteer run – with no paid administration or PGA professional. The governing body provides little co-ordinated assistance for these clubs to manage and administer their operations.
